Flaming Text - How to create cool flaming text effects

Flaming Text. Making headers with flaming text instead of normal text has always been a pretty cool idea. This flaming text tutorial will show you how to create flames in Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Photoshop.

So, here's how you can create cool flaming text effects! First you open your graphics program and draw something that loosely resembles a fire using at least three different colors to create the flames. In this example, I have used yellow, orange and red. Use an airbrush with a soft tip for a better flaming text effect.

Next, you use the Warp tool to make the colors blend together and look fiery. You may need some practice to do that if you are a novice Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro user. Then, you duplicate the layers. The image now does look a lot more like fire, doesn't it?

Next, you change the opacity of the duplicated layer to 50% (or less) and use the Wind effect to distort the image. Then, you use the Warp tool to make semi-transparent background flames like this.

The flaming text tutorial is almost complete now! You just add your text using the flaming image as a background, like this.
