Html Cursor Codes - Html codes for cool mouse cursors

Html Cursor Codes.

You can change your cursor image using html, for example, make the cursor turn into an hourglass when hovering over a link. To be more accurate, the cursor html codes are nothing more than snippets of css, cascading style sheets.

Html Cursor Codes

The html codes to change the cursors is pretty simple, really. Take a look at this snippet of html code.

<a href="http://www.site.com" style="cursor:wait"><img src="filename.gif"></a>

That means that when you hover with your mouse over a picture link, the cursor changes into an hourglass. Not too spiffy, huh? Well, to my experience cool cursors include the crosshair (a cross) and the n-resize (an elegant white arrow pointing upwards). I have been to many sites with fancy layouts, and trust me, the crosshair mouse cursor is overused. Just replace "wait" with any of the values below:

crosshair, n-resize, move, help, hand or s-resize for an arrow looking down. You could also use your own ani file as a cursor, with the following html cursor codes:

<style="cursor:url('yourdomain.com/cursor.ani')">

I will admit I am not sure how easy it is to create ani cursor files. So, it would be better to just stick to the cool cursors already available for you mouse. Take in mind that these codes won't work for older versions of IE.
