Scary Clowns A clown's purpose is to make people laugh, not to scare them away. Do evil, scary clowns really exist? Realistically, no. However, the image clowns project is scary to some people for a variety of reasons. First of all, clowns seem scary because of their make up, painted faces and masks - even now, that I do not find clowns scary anymore, I still think they look hideous and not funny at all. I know this is probably irrational, clowns are ordinary people doing their jobs, but some of them just seem evil and scary. Especially clowns with painted eyes. When I can't look at someone in the eye, it's usually because I am afraid of them. And I guess that eyes with too much eye liner and unnatural black lines are scary to most people. Finally, horror movies featuring super scary clowns and evil spirits, among other things, can influence people's perception of clowns. There's a large number of scary clowns movies portraying them as psychos and murderers. Even grown ups find clowns scary, as demonstrated by countless websites on the subjects of scary clowns, featuring really scary pictures of clowns, such as the ones below.
