Greece is a country surrounded by sea whose climate is Mediterranean. The summers are long,
hot and dry and the winters are short and mild. Practically every single day of the year, Greeks enjoy marvellous
bright sunshine.
Sunshine has a strong influence over people's behaviour. Greeks are famous all over the world
for their hospitality. They are usually friendly and cheerful-for example, they're likely to smile
at you in the street and say hello to a stranger. Always talkative and warm-hearted, Greek
people enjoy having a good time and like to celebrate and organize social gatherings for any
occasion. The fact that they can depend and rely on the sun, makes them optimistic and not
anxious about their future. In general, people in Greece are more open than people that live
in the Northern Europe.
Of course, too much sun can have disturbing results on people's behaviour as well. The Greeks, together
with the Spanish and the Italians, are said to be the loudest people in the world. Greek people
can be very rude and insulting and have a very short temper some times. That may be due to
too much exposure to the sun's rays.
The sun is part of people's lives in Greece. We wouldn't exchange the hot sunny days of the summer
with anything else in the world.
