THE STORY
The dagger of Xian is a powerful artifact rumoured to have the power to turn its bearer into a dragon, after a certain ceremony where he or she has to press the dagger into his or her heart. It was first created by a cruel emperor who wanted to destroy his enemies and also, conquer new countries. He ruled China and the places he had conquered tyrannically. A group of Tibetan warrior monks managed to remove the dagger from the heart of the Xian emperor and hid it in a secret chamber in the Great Wall of China and gave their descenders the task to guard the dagger and fight against people who wanted Xian's powers for their own good. In this adventure, Lara searches for it against the megalomaniac Marco Bartoli, the Italian leader of Fiamma Nera. He wants to use the power of the dagger to rule the world and your job is to get to it first. To do that though, you must unlock the Sanctuary of the dagger. The problem is that the key is located somewhere in the snowy mountains of Tibet...

ENVIRONMENTS
In Tomb Raider 2, Lara gets to explore the Great Wall of China and then goes to Venice. After some exploration in the streets and the lovely houses with the red tents and boat rides in the canals, she ends up in the Opera House of the city. Next, she visits an offshore rig and dives into the depths of the ocean, to find and explore a sunken ship. It's there that she finds the key to unlocking the sanctuary of the Talion. Then, her route takes her to the snowy Tibetan Foothills. She gets into the Barkhang Monastery which was built by Chinese monks. She manages to get into the Ice Palace, by using the key she found and after making a narrow escape, she returns to China and uses the Talion to get access to theTemple of Xian. Then, she goes to a strange place which seems to be out of this world, in another dimension(Floating Islands).After a while she's back to China's Great Wall to face the boss.

THE NEW VEHICLES AND THEIR CONTROLS
BOAT(seen in Level:Venice)
Action:Climb up(You can get on the boat by jumping into it from a platform, as well)If you are on the boat and you press Action, it will cause the boat to speed up. However, if you hit a wall while holding down Action, you'll get some damage
Direction Keys:Move like you move on foot
Jump +Left/Right:Jump out of boat(you can do that even if the boat is moving and that's really handy)
SNOWMOBILE(seen in Level:Tibetan Foothills)
Action:Climb up.If you are already on the snowmobile, pressing Action will cause the snowmobile to speed up(or to start firing)That depends on the snowmobile you are riding-if you are riding one that previously belonged to one of Bartoli's henchmen, you'll be able to fire with it, but not to speed up. While you are holding down Action,you must take care of walls, because if you hit one, you'll get damage
Direction Keys:Move like you move on foot. However, if you make a mistake and fall off a high ledge, the snowmobile will explode
Jump +Left/Righ:Jump out of the snowmobile
NEW WEAPONS
Lara has added three more weapons to her existing ones(pistols,shotgun,magnums and uzis)
- Harpoon gun:It is the only weapon that can be used underwater. It can't aim very quickly though, and Lara has to stop to reload after 3 shots. It's your only defense underwater though, so you can't complain, can you?
- Grenade Launcher:It is a powerful weapon that throws grenades(Lara can't throw them with her bare hands).The grenades explode about 8 squares away from the place you stand. This weapon doesn't aim easily though and you won't find much ammo. For that you need to conserve some ammo for the Tibet levels and the boss level, where the grenade gun becomes very useful.
- M-16 Assault riffle:This weapon is quite powerful and very useful, especially in Tibet. It is quite difficult to learn to aim well with it, because it locks on target. That's really a feature, but it does make things more difficult in the beginning. It throws rapid fire and that makes it handy when it comes to baddies armed with Uzis.
NOTE:The Magnums were replaced by Automatic Pistols
TRAINING LEVELS
There is a training level where you can practice jumping, running, climbing, swimming e.t.c but it is not something very special. Actually, the training level is Lara's Mansion in Surrey again. The main difference with the previous Mansion in Tomb Raider 1, is that the level won't end and that it has more rooms-a kitchen, Lara's bedroom and a secret treasure room in the basement. You can explore the mansion from outside and use the assault course to practice Lara's moves on. A large hedge maze is located in the garden and if you explore it closely, you'll manage to access the secret room. Lara wears a brown top and trousers of the same colour.
TOMB RAIDER 2 GOLD: THE GOLEDN MASK-INFO
The Gold Version of Tomb Raider 2, Tomb Raider 2 gold for PC/Mac includes five extra levels and is called "The Golden Mask". Lara heads to Alaska in search of the Mask of Tornarsuk. According to legend, this relic bestows powers of re-animation on its bearer. This time she goes up against a band of mercenaries also bent on possessing the mask. There are 3 secrets in each level: golden coins, golden ingots and a gold carved skull-which appear in this particular order and are very difficult to locate. If you find them all in the first four levels, you will get access to a bonus level: Nightmare in Vegas. There are a few new enemies: creepy creatures made of ice, nearly invisible, but quick and tough and some Inuit people that will help you if you don't shoot them. You can use a snowmobile there. The boss enemy is a creature that reminds me of the Guardian of the Talion in Ice Palace in Tomb Raider 2. You can meet an improved version of the Yetis as well. You get to explore an abandoned Russian military base a tropical Shangri-La and an ancient temple with lots of traps, where the golden mask of Tornasuk is located. The bonus level of Tomb Raider 2 gold takes place in a five-star hotel in Las Vegas. Be prepared for some weird waterfalls of melting gold!
